Volunteer At Rarearth

Thank you for your support for our 4th annual Rarearth Music Fest, 2011.  We are very happy to have you join our ‘team’ and look forward to receiving your application. All Volunteers are representatives of the Festival and therefore a Code of Ethics do apply:

• All Volunteers Must wear Volunteer t-shirt while on duty
• 1 Shift = 4 Hours = 1 Day Pass
• No consumption of alcohol or any illegal substances on Festival site.  Off-duty Volunteers Must Not Wear Festival t-shirts while in the Beverage Gardens
• All Volunteers must treat other volunteers, performers, staff and the public with respect.  Any issues shall be immediately directed to your ‘Team Leader’

BOOTH @ SUNSHINE FESTIVAL - June 18, 2011

• Market dates, new Venue (Silver Star Mountain) Festival Times, the Music & the Lineup, ‘Green’ theme, Family Events (Scenic Chairlift Rides, Mountain Wildflower & Bears & Berries Tours, Horse Back Riding, Accommodation Packages, Tent & RV Camping, Kidz Fun, Artisans, Food Vendors, Jam at the Saloon, and Parking, for the Rarearth Music Fest and Our Kids Have Talent with ‘draws’ and by handing out promotional materials.
• Volunteer should be comfortable speaking to the public, and be warm, inviting, and friendly.

SET UP / TEAR DOWN & CLEANUP - July 22, 2011 & July 25, 2011 @ 10:00 am

• Set Up will include placement of tents, garbage cans, chairs, tables, guiding Vendors on site, display promotional materials, place signage, and general help where needed
• Tear Down & Cleanup under the direction of the Site Boss with a goal to leave the site spotless
• Volunteer needs to be able to follow direction and have lots of energy and enthusiasm

GATE TICKET SALES

• Sell tickets, apply Armbands, provide information, Cashier experience an asset
• Volunteer must be friendly, helpful, good under fast paced conditions

BEVERAGE TICKET SALES

• Sell tickets, check identification, Cashier experience an asset
• Volunteer should be a positive and helpful

BEVERAGE SERVER

• Serving Alcohol, check for identification, bussing tables, organizing recyclables,
• Must have Serving It Right Certificate and be 19 years of age
• Volunteer should be well organized in a fast paced environment

SECURITY

• Team Leader will assign a section of the Festival site where you and a partner will be watchful for any indiscretions – a list of indiscretions will be provided - any contentious issues must be directed to your Team Leader
• Volunteer is a calm, non-aggressive person

LOST & FOUND / INFORMATION BOOTH

• Provide information to public about all Festival events, Vernon & Silver Star Mountaini
• Receive and make note to MC on lost and found articles
• Volunteer should be a friendly and calm person

MERCHANDISE BOOTH

• Organize, track and sell Musician CDs, t-shirts and other Festival Memorabilia
• Cashier experience an asset
• Volunteer should be well organized, have good numbers skills, pleasant and helpful

GREEN TEAM

• To keep the grounds spotless, separate recyclables, paper and compost materials
• Team Leader will assign an area where you will work with a partner
• This volunteer cares about the environment – is a hard worker with a get the job done attitude

GREEN ROOM

• Look after Artists in the Green Room – drinks, food, answering questions
• Musical background for this Volunteer is an Asset, must have respect for privacy

MUSICIAN’S GUIDE

• Meet the Artists and direct them to the Green Room, Direct to Parking Area, Organize help for Artists’ Gear, introduce to Green Room Leader
• Volunteer needs to be able to lift gear if necessary, with a warm, helpful and friendly disposition
